Gerard Walsh leads the Economist Intelligence Unit's team of Asia analysts in London. With over 25 years of experience as an applied macroeconomist, Mr Walsh has worked on the major world economies, global trade issues and the operational environment for business. His current areas of interest include Asia's rise in the world economy, trade and investment flows in Asia, and Asian financial markets. Prior to taking up his current position in 2005, Mr Walsh was the Economics Director at the Economist Intelligence Unit for 12 years.
