Live long and prosper: Why be best practice when good enough will do? (Corporate panel)
What is best practice and why be best practice? It is usually defined as the most effective way to achieve something based on processes, technology and strategy that has proven effective elsewhere. But in reality, this rules-based approach is often difficult to apply across the board for corporate treasury. Applying best practice in a corporate environment often relates to a company’s particular circumstances or business model rather than one size fits all. This panel will look at how a company can develop a best practice approach suited to its own needs and how to monitor and benchmark this against a diverse group of companies.

We come in peace: Questions to ask your banks on best practice (Bank panel)
Why can’t your banks tell you what Basel III will do to their client list, their cost of credit and their pricing of transaction services? Do your banks have the right to make money the way they do and why aren’t they more driven towards standardisation and consistency in fee structures and pricing? Given renewed counterparty risk, will your bank even be there in future? These are just a few questions that polite treasurers can be reluctant to ask of their banks when they need them for credit provision. We ask them for you! How do your banks see best practice for their performance and service? Are they providing you the right value for money? We put your banks in the spotlight by also asking the audience to vote in response to the bank answers. This session looks at how to get better banking/customer relationships.
