After qualifying as a CA with KPMG, Debbie worked mainly in financial consulting before joining Vodacom in 1999. There she had a short stint in financial management and strategy after which she spent more than 5 years responsible for treasury, funding and tax issues as well as the investor relations related functions required during and after the Telkom IPO. Debbie joined MTN in 2005 in her current position responsible for treasury, funding and investor relations reporting to the Group Finance Director. A highlight of her tenor so far at MTN includes forming part of the team on the Investcom transaction, where she was responsible for, not only investor relations but the US$4 billion fund raising and risk management of the acquisition.
